First Lego League Regional Competition

Let the excitement begin! November 6, 2010 is the date for the Shenandoah Valley's First Lego League regional competition. The SVTC is proud to be able to offer sponsorships to 3 lucky teams in 2010 and NOW is the time to apply for SVTC sponsorship.

What do we give? There are start-up costs for each team (equipment and registration) and we reimburse approx. half of the cost (up to $365).

Teams can be any group of kids (e.g. school, church, neighborhood, etc). Contact Nicky at info@svtc-va.org if you would like more information.

While we give 3 grants a year in support of new teams, the competition is put together by Dr. Ralph Grove at JMU's CISAT and he coordinates the teams as the tournament director. For more information you may contact him at groverf@jmu.edu or call (540) 568-6228

Pictured at right are the Mindstorm Marauders from Highland School in Warrenton, VA, who won the Team Spirit Award in 2009. They were one of the 19 teams competing in 2 age groups from across the region.
