Valley Apps (www.valleyapps.com) is a Google Apps certified partner and provides Google business solutions

They are interested in students with an interest and passion for marketing, media arts and design, computer programming, web development and design, public relations and communications. They welcome students currently enrolled in classes (can work with them part time) or students who are looking for work during the summer recess.

Ideally, they are looking for unpaid interns who are eligible to receive course credit for their work. They have previously had interns that benefitted from their experience and went on to find great jobs after graduating.

Job Requirements:

  • At least 3 years in database management.

Information Technology Support Specialist


Serco North America is seeking an Information Technology Support Specialist to work with a small team of dedicated IT professionals that provide a wide range of IT support for roughly 100 end users in Harrisonburg VA.
This is a great opportunity for a candidate who is seeking a team driven environment, but also is a strong, independent worker.  Our facility is fully run by Serco North America in support of the contract with the USPTO.  This is an ideal job for a candidate who would like apply technology in creative ways to solve business problems, all while working in the beautiful surroundings of the Shenandoah Valley in Harrisonburg, Virginia.
The IT Support Specialist will provide technical support to end users and make necessary modifications to software and hardware to support operations.  
Required Skills:

  • Experience working with Windows XP, 2003, 2008, and 7 Operating Systems
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • SQL report writing experience
  • Experience providing end user Windows desktop support
  • Ability to function in a production-based environment, including operating efficiently, accurately and at a significant pace
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks without need of excessive supervision

Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include:

  • Triaging help desk requests and managing requests from end users
  • Physical PC setup, relocation, hardware configuration and replacement
  • Software Deployment (Experience with Symantec Altiris Total Management Suite is a plus)
  • Microsoft SQL Server Report Server (SSRS) report writing
  • Develop test plans and conduct software testing (both automated and manual)
  • Stored procedure creation and debugging
  • Information Assurance tasks
  • SQL Data import
  • SQL Data integrity verification
  • Technical and non-technical documentation
  • Administering Microsoft Windows Server Active Directory, DHCP, DNS

Education: A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or closely related field; or related work experience in a professional environment.
Experience:  Demonstrated team experience within a technical field.  
Security Clearance: Applicant selected must be a U.S Citizen and will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Cadence, Inc. is searching for an Application/Sales Engineer to join our Cadence Manufacturing Engineering team.  This position will represent Cadence in a technical and project management role during new product development, which will include risk analysis, conceptual design, DFM, financial evaluation, tooling development, and pilot production run. We are searching for candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent – BSME Preferred
  • 5 years experience in project or program management
  • Quality Engineering Background – Certified CQT or CQE preferred
  • Lean manufacturing and/or six-sigma experience desirable
  • Medical Device Industry experience preferred, but experience in automotive, aerospace, nuclear, and other highly regulated industries would also be a plus.
  • CAD skills required – AutoCAD & SolidWorks experience preferred
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders in a team environment.

 

Cadence Inc. is also searching for an Engineering Technologist to join the Manufacturing Engineering team. This position will assist Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineers in the design, manufacture, construction, operation, and improvement of manufacturing equipment. Job functions will cover a wide range of operational and engineering applications. We are searching for candidates with the following qualifications:

  • 7+ years of practical and extensive hands-on experience in a machine shop or precision metal components environment
  • Proficiency in programming multi-axis CNC machines.
  • Jig and tool design, method study and metals machining knowledge. 
  • Associates degree in related engineering field preferred. 
  • CAD skills desired, AutoCAD & Solid Works experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, internet and email.
