Harrisonburg City Public Schools is a school system of excellence educating over 6000 students in grades PK-12. Our strength comes from our diverse student population where over 50 languages are spoken by our students. Our school system takes pride in providing a rigorous curriculum that includes many advanced placement, dual enrollment and honors level courses, a regional Governor's school for science, STEM Academies at middle school and high school, and outstanding foreign language, arts, music, journalism, and sports programs. HCPS has outstanding vocational, business and technical education programs including advanced computer labs, and a wide range of computer application opportunities for all students. We are also proud of our fine arts departments from bands to theater productions and everything in between. We are fortunate to have a supportive local community that values the importance of educating children and providing them the experiences and resources needed to be successful learners.
