The Valley’s Technology Student Association (part of Virginia TSA) enhances personal development, leadership, and career opportunities in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), whereby members apply and integrate these concepts through intracurricular activities, competitions, and related programs for middle and high school students.

⭐️ Massanutten Regional Governors School ⭐️

Massanutten Regional Governor’s School provides an integrated, collaborative, and enriched inquiry-based curriculum to highly motivated and gifted students centered around applying and developing research-based technological solutions to interactions between human and environmental systems at local, regional, and global levels.

James Madison University ⭐️

This innovative lab provides a two-semester remote introductory physics laboratory course designed to deliver authentic scientific training on par with traditional in-person laboratory instruction. It provides a sound alternative to the in-person lab especially for at-risk and transfer students who face greater challenges to fulfill their academic requirements.

An Eagle Scout and boy scout leader in Shenandoah County, Russell Kohrs is a professor at Laurel Ridge Community College teaching environmental science and tech-related research at Massanutten Regional Governor’s School. Russell brings joy and curiosity to education as he has played a key role in the success of Massanutten Regional Governor’s School.

⭐️ Ron Vickers ⭐️

After the Marine Corps, Ron Vickers gave his life to teaching technology, his passion as a lifelong tinkerer. He grew the Technology Student Association (TSA) program at Luray High School, and became one of the first tech teachers in Virginia to adopt, implement, and teach technologies like 3D printing and CAD – doing so in an often-underfunded rural setting, where many of his students would go from difficult home situations without broadband to state technology champions.
